honestly, I was ready to be a hater. anthropic has been moving deviously for months and I was super disappointed with sonnet 5. i definitely found myself believing that fable is as SOTA as these models get but the catastrophic release also left a sour taste in my mouth. however

  • i’ve been using opus 5 as my daily driver alongside 5.6 sol ($200 max plans for claude && codex) and - i have to say - i cannot for the life of me figure out what people are complaining about. frankly, the romanticizations of previous opus versions just makes me think that people are connecting with models in the wrong way (which is a whole other can of worms and my armchair psychologist license was revoked). all of them had their quirks, all of them botched work plenty but opus 5 has been making light work of extremely complex monorepos, bogged down with stale context and tech debt, doing really impressive higher level orchestration work and has frankly done very little that would make me think this was a downgrade in any capacity (not to mention the increased usage limits have made opus limits feel damn near infinite [even on fast mode!]) now - i know its not a step function improvement. i know it’s not fable. but i dont know what the hell yall are seeing that would leave me feeling so confused reading all of these haterade posts. the engagement on the posts feel too high to be astroturfing from openai but i wouldnt put it past the labs to orchestrate the appearance of a collective opinion. i didnt mean to put on my tinfoil hat for this post but it just strikes me as strange. am i the only one ? submitted by /u/czar6ixn9ne
