A little context: I work in a supermarket so I can see my co-workers even if I’m not working. I’m a person who looks serious and bitter so I don’t attract women’s attention and honestly it doesn’t bother me since I’m not looking for a relationship. I always run into two cute girls at work that I never talk to and they don’t seem to want to talk to me but I noticed something different when my self-esteem was high after reading a book. One day I went shopping wearing my favorite clothes (military green cargo shorts and a green t-shirt with a black cap) and while I felt capable of anything and very good with myself I noticed that she stared at me the whole time I was paying for my things, maybe 2 minutes. I ran into the other one like every day but this time she was wearing a Christmas headband. Feeling like nothing could stop me I smiled and asked her about her headband; we had a short conversation without awkward glances or cold replies. The only difference between these occasions and other days was that I felt good about myself, capable of anything. Can you notice that? submitted by /u/Thegreen9
