Ever since I finished DT2, I’ve not been able to get this out of my head. The four DT2 bosses are all themed to one of the four ancient magicks - Vardorvis is blood, Duke is ice, The Whisperer is shadow, and Leviathan is smoke. You spend the entire Leviathan section lighting fires specifically to try and smoke it out, and keep it on the little island. Then, in the dialogue leading up to Leviathan; Wizard Persten : I hope you like your fish smoked, because we’re going to smoke this one out! and Wizard Persten : Oh, you’re back! Sorry, I was in my own little world there, chittering away. Anyway, looks like our plan worked. I was able to use all that smoke to force our big fish towards that island! and Wizard Persten : That’s right! Now don’t worry, I have a very in-depth plan. Basically, one of us needs to be ready to direct the smoke in case it tries to escape while the other goes and gives it a good old poke! Persten very clearly talks about smoke, how it doesn’t like smoke, how smoke will keep it from leaving. With that said, why on earth is Levi stunned with shadow spells? The only mention of them is a random line immediately after; Wizard Persten : From my experiences in this place, some sort of shadowy spell should do the trick! I’m sure a capable individual like you has access to something suitable. It just feels completely opposite to what you’ve just been doing. Surely Leviathan would be weak to smoke, as is established in the quest? It feels like this was changed late on and that line was thrown in, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why. submitted by /u/Jademalo
