I used to be afraid of spiders. Size didn’t matter. Of course the bigger they were, the scarier, but even the tiny ones freaked me out. If a spider disappeared somewhere in my bedroom, I’d sleep in the living room. If I knew there was a spider anywhere in the house, it was impossible for me to relax. After spending what must be 100+ hours in spider caves on OSRS, I somehow lost all emotion and fear when seeing spiders in real life. My roommate used to be the one who had to remove the spiders from the living room. Now I’m like, “That’s just a little spawn with 1 HP, let me one-shot it for you.” Last weekend I was staying in a jungle cabin in Central America, and we found a tarantula in the cabin. Old me would’ve booked the first flight straight back home. Instead, I immediately started thinking of a plan to remove it. Luckily housekeeping came by, and thankfully this was a multi-combat area, so we teamed up and got rid of it. (She removed it safely, didn’t kill it, so unfortunately no loot.) I’ve seen people on this sub complaining about another spider boss. You want fewer spider bosses? Give me more! You hate going dry on Spindel for your Voidwaker gem? I loved going 1k+ dry. Going 3x dry on pristine spider silk from Sarachnis? Perfect. 500+ Araxxor KC with only a halberd piece? Couldn’t care less. TL;DR: Killing spider bosses in OSRS genuinely helped me beat my arachnophobia. submitted by /u/sodabad
