Hi everyone, I’m thinking about starting a small mobile mechanic business as a side business at first. I already have some mechanical experience from working on my own cars and helping friends and family, and I’d mainly want to stick to basic jobs such as oil changes, brakes, batteries, spark plugs, diagnostics, tire changes and similar repairs that can be done at the customer’s home. I have a few questions for anyone who’s done this or knows the Swiss rules: Is there actually a market for mobile mechanics in Switzerland? Do I legally need to have a professional mechanic qualification or apprenticeship (EFZ), or can I simply register my own business and start working? Besides registering the business and getting insurance, are there any legal requirements or permits I should know about? Are there any common mistakes or things you wish you’d known before starting? Thanks! submitted by /u/Desperate-Appeal4199
