I have no friends and I’m mildly autistic. I’ve struggled enough in the past to make friends with women and now in my job I work with all men I don’t know how to talk to them? They seem to banter with me and I always struggle to know what to say back. I’ve heard that men don’t become friends through talking they become friends by doing things together? How do I become friends with them and maybe see them outside of work? Edit: a lot of people are saying to join groups which I do want to do at some point but for me the question is more how do I become friends with the people I work with and see them outside of work? submitted by /u/Purple-Detective7186

I don’t think making friendship at work is a good idea.

Also, I have autism, I don’t think it is that mild.

Don’t share too much, my father always says, say the least.

The more you say the more people notice that you are naive or slow and most people wanna take advantage.

At work don’t befriend people, but be “friends”

I have no trouble talking to people, but I assume you are shy or as they say introverted.

Try to convince yourself, who cares what they think, just talk and laugh, stress and worry and shyness makes you quiet, try to fight it by convincing yourself not to care what they think. Don’t care sounding smart, or normal or intelligent, be you garl.

I have recently finally comprehended what what mental retardation really means, I am smart and intellectual, but my processor speed is very slow. And that make mesound dumb, but I am not du… that dumb.

Not everyone is fast with comebacks and replies, so I am not saying you are slow like me, but might be be slow to come up with an answer, maybe due to stress or anxiety or shyness, or stress of sounding normal or smart. It is okay, just say I have nothing to say… who cares. Or just say okay.

But the key is, don’t care, like your favorite fedivers Astronaut…MEE 😬

Live by the great Daddy Chill life philosophy.

AGAIN, don’t share too much, one of them WILL use it against you, it is just how human are. I’ve learnt it the hard wah, my bumbum still hurt from that.

Befriend people outside of work that’s better… my Humble opinion.

Lastly, I can be your online friend… people have called me cuckoo whisperer (that’s a joke because you said you have autism, sadly albeit mild because I like dem spicy cuckoos folks just like me)

Aight, I go hunt for food in that scarh jungle called my kitchen
