My dad lost his best friend of 13 years yesterday, to a sudden death. They were texting the night before and the following morning he was gone. This has taken a hit on my dad, he went to his best friend for so much and they would call multiple times each week to just discuss what’s going on in the world. It’s hit our whole family, as this man was a part of our lives and the most wonderful human being you could ever imagine. Each conversation with him was so enjoyable. I want advice on how I can support my dad during this. He’s strong, but men don’t always talk through/want to talk through their emotions. I’d like advice on ways to be here for him, things I can talk to him about or do for him. And importantly, what to do during the time of the funeral. I want to make sure he takes care of his mental health, and since he’s currently experiencing a large void in his life since he would go to this friend to discuss so much, I’d love to know how I can help him go about that situation. And, ways that I can help. Any advice is welcome, thank you all submitted by /u/Dry_Arugula_2069
