I’m pregnant with my son, and his father feels he was “trapped” (he wasn’t). He has been mostly uninvolved aside from a couple of “are there any updates on the pregnancy” texts and has been very hateful toward me AND the baby throughout my pregnancy as he ‘decides what role if any’ he wants to play in his son’s life. I’m fully preparing to raise my son without him and have a great support system, but I can’t help holding onto some hope that he may eventually show up for his son, especially since this is his first child. Men who were uninvolved during an unplanned pregnancy or initially didn’t want the baby: did anything change once your child was born? Did you eventually bond with or become involved with them?
