Hi everyone, I’m working in a hotel restaurant in the Canton of Bern with a seasonal contract that clearly states the season should end in April. Now, at the end of February, they told us that the hotel wants to close around March 15, and that they would pay us only until that date, even though the contract mentions April as the end of the season. The probation period is already over. No official written notice yet, only rumors. My questions: • Is it legal in Switzerland to end a seasonal contract earlier just because the hotel closes? • Are they still obliged to pay until the contract end date stated in the contract? • Has anyone experienced something similar?
