I think pets could use a small QoL update that would make them much easier to use without changing anything about how rare or prestigious they are. Currently, pets are physical items. When you’re not using one, you either have to keep it in your bank or store it in your POH. If you want to use a different pet, you have to go back, pick it up, and then return to whatever content you’re doing. This becomes increasingly awkward the more pets you own. The system has also changed quite a lot over the years: Old system: Pets could be permanently lost on death. Later: Insured pets could be reclaimed for 1m. Current: Pets can be reclaimed for free and can never be permanently lost. At this point, pets are effectively permanent, account-bound unlocks. So I think the physical item requirement has become somewhat unnecessary. My suggestion Once you obtain a pet, it becomes permanently unlocked on your account and appears in the pet whistle interface . You could then open the whistle from the equipment tab and choose any pet you’ve unlocked to summon. The POH could still display your pets as normal, so the Menagerie would remain useful for showing off your collection. This would mean: No need to physically store every pet. No trips to the POH just to swap pets. You could freely change between your pets from the equipment tab. Having a large pet collection would actually make it easier to show them off rather than making them increasingly cumbersome to manage. There’s also a slightly awkward interaction with pet drops. If you already have a pet following you and your inventory is full, you may miss out on a new pet. I don’t think this would make pets any easier to obtain or reduce their prestige. You still have to get the pet drop exactly as you do now. It would simply change pets from: Obtain pet → physical item → bank/POH → retrieve → summon to: Obtain pet → account unlock → select from whistle → summon We’ve already moved from pets being something you could lose permanently to something you can reclaim infinitely for free. I think making them fully account-unlocked is just the logical next step in that progression. What do you think? submitted by /u/TheIronBob
