Got an upgrade at work today and got reminded how Fable is orders of magnitude better than Opus 5, 4.8 and even 4.6 which has been my daily driver ever since Fable went to Max/Enterprise accounts. None of the annoying overthinking, sickeningly verbose output, “before you do, just two more things”, etc. that seem to plague the latest Opus. There’s a certain “intuitive” thinking that’s hard to describe, when a model just seems to get what you want without having to overexplain, while still being attentive enough to accurately follow instructions. Like an attentive, thoughtful coworker instead of a bright but ADHD ridden intern. You don’t even have to use it all the time, it’s great for planning with Opus 4.6 executing and another Opus/Fable instance doing adversarial reviews after big changes. If you’re serious about coding, the 5x/20x sub seems to be a no-brainer just for Fable tbh. submitted by /u/Sad_Carpenter5726
