We have been renting so far and now bought an appartment. My understanding is that the Gebaudeversicherung covers for the fire (and ours for water) damage of the building itself. My private insurance told me I need to insure the appartment, secondly the Gebäudegrunddeckung of the appartment itself which is Kitchen,Bath, Floors etc and third I need a Hausrat for all my belongings. Is this correct? Seems alot of insurance. what do you pay for all of these? thanks submitted by /u/bikesailfreak
