Throughout the world, students screamed in horror! Anthropic will be adding hidden but machine-readable watermarks to text and images produced by its latest Claude models. Anthropic will be adding this functionality to older models. No more will students be able to “write” their papers with a little help. What’s a kid to do!? Well, move to another model, obviously. That can be falsely identified or fail to be identified so it’s no more useful than tools that already exist.
