I have someone who I consider my best friend but after we graduated he went into med school. I want to maintain our friendship so I try to communicate by sending him memes or just checking up on him but it always felt one-sided even though I can see he’s online. I try not to make a big fuss about it because I know med school can be demanding or maybe he’s just not in the mood. But I don’t know why I’m getting so affected by it - it may be I have so much free time, and as much as I want to find something to do, it would cost me and I don’t have enough funds. I do try long walks for about 2-3 hrs but that’s about it, I have nothing to do all day. (I am still looking for a job) Maybe the realization hasn’t hit him yet that friendship requires a little bit of maintenance because he still has a lot of people to meet in school and I don’t blame him. But, man, I didn’t know that it would affect so much. He’s one of the people I want to be a part of my life. submitted by /u/cngrss
