So over the last 3 months I have witnessed a MASSIVE degradation of the quality of Claude. This is not tied to a specific model (even if Opus 5 is a catastroph for itself). And this goes beyond “skill issue” “bad prompting” etc. When I catch mistakes through code reviews, I find wrong statements by questioning them or double checking myself, another LLM reviews the output and other cases, I always do an analysis of what went wrong, when and why. I do this for Codex and Claude. I have a list of error classes for each of them + overlapping ones. As I started doing this, I got more aware of the typical mistakes Claude is making. I didn’t witness new error classes for like 1-2 weeks so BUT the amount of errors is next level scary. I kid you not: Nearly EVERY TURN has either a wrong statement or wrong assumption + often broke functioning code because of sloppy way of working. This was not the case some months ago. This is valid for ALL models they have right now. For the topic of “skill issue” etc.: I put a lot of effort into each single prompts with contracts, boundaries etc etc. They are well crafted and leave no space for ambiguity + I use several hooks for determnistic checks. Still: Claude costs more time and tokens than creating value. Not kidding. This is not an ad for Codex. It has it’s own flaws and I don’t care for the providers. My honest question is:

  1. Did I get too sensitive over time so that I catch every single shity thing Claude is doing or
  2. Is there a massive degradation regarding quality and reasoning on the max 20 subs or
  3. I know that invites people but I dont care lmao: Do I just suck and do something wrong and you all figured it out or
  4. Are people not aware of this level of shit Claude is producing and just believe and accept the confident “done”, “complete” etc. statements from e.g. Fable and under the hood, there is a huge pile of shit waiting for them?
