Hi everyone, I’m curious how other men approach this nowadays. How do you guys find a one-night stand or casual sex without it necessarily turning into a relationship? Dating apps seem to be becoming less and less effective for me. I often get the impression that some women are mainly on there for an ego boost, and that getting a match doesn’t necessarily mean they’re actually interested in having a conversation or going on a date. I’ve even come across several women who were apparently only using the apps because of some kind of bet, such as seeing who could get the most matches within a certain period. That’s obviously not very useful when you’re actually trying to meet someone. Going out doesn’t seem like the easiest way to find a one-night stand either, especially if you don’t live in a proper university/student city. And being in your late twenties, going out every weekend also feels quite different compared to when you’re 19 or 20. So I’m particularly interested in hearing from men in their late twenties, thirties or older: how do you guys approach this nowadays? Dating apps, going out, friends, hobbies, holidays, something else? Sometimes I get the impression that it’s become quite difficult for men to find casual sex in a natural way nowadays, without getting caught up in all sorts of complicated dating dynamics. I’d be interested to hear about your experiences. Edit: Just to add some extra information: I live in the far north of the Netherlands, in Friesland. I’ve also already tried apps such as 3Fun and Feeld, in case those were going to be suggestions. As a single guy, I haven’t had much success on those either. A lot of people seem to be looking for either a) a couple swap or b) a +1, usually another woman . So being a single guy makes things quite difficult. I’m straight, by the way, just to be clear! And please don’t suggest prostitution, escorts, or paid websites. That’s not what I’m asking about. I’m specifically interested in the natural way of meeting someone for casual sex nowadays .
