Do you think one reason we’ve never managed to achieve meaningful change in AC policy is that the outrage is so seasonal? Every summer, when it gets unbearably hot, people get furious about the lack of AC and there’s suddenly a lot of discussion about changing the rules. Then the weather cools down, the urgency disappears, and everyone forgets about it for the rest of the year. Then the next summer comes, everyone gets furious again, and the exact same cycle repeats. Unlike issues that affect people year-round, AC only seems to become a priority during a relatively short window each year.
