Yesterday Qwen 3.8-27B came out. A nice addition to my setup. So I tasked Fable- as with previous versions - with modifying and customizing it. Apparently that now counts as some kind of cybersecurity violation, because Fable keeps bouncing back to Opus 4.8. Opus 4.8 then does exactly the job Fable would have done, but fails to notice that scripts for the procedure already existed, and redoes everything from scratch, with errors. So I switch to Opus 5, and Opus 5 makes fewer errors than 4.8, but the ones it does make come from constantly asserting things that aren’t true. So I get to choose between the most expensive model in the world, which could but isn’t allowed to, its incompetent involuntary stand-in, or a liar who doesn’t know he’s lying. submitted by /u/Dirtaccount_43
