After burning up my max plan on Fable 5 due to the Opus 5 incompetence, I decided to re-delete Claude.md, skills, etc. and start clean. Then using Claude code, asked Fable 5 to use Opus 5 agents with verifications half way through their work. 9 out of 10 times Opus 5 drifted, made up data, went out of scope, and had outputs that were 5x-10x longer than Fable’s output for similar work. Fable 5 had to re-prompt and have Opus 5 redo the cycles about 90% of the time. Sometimes for a 3rd time. Yup, even Anthropic’s Fable 5 has trouble harnessing Opus 5. submitted by /u/knowenuf_nada12
