I took an educational loan from a Swiss educational funding foundation to finance my Master’s degree. It wasn’t a normal bank loan; it was specifically intended to help students finance their education. The repayment plan was structured so that the monthly payment increases over time. During the first six months of repayment, I had no problem making the payments. However, the monthly amount has now increased to a point where I’m struggling to afford it. I earn around CHF 3,200 per month, and the current loan repayment is CHF 890 per month. Next month, the repayment will increase to CHF 1,340 per month, which I simply cannot manage on my income. I absolutely intend to repay the loan and I’m not trying to avoid my obligations. I’m wondering what options I have in Switzerland in this situation. Is it possible to negotiate a lower monthly repayment by extending the repayment period? Is there a debt counselling service or another organization I should contact? submitted by /u/Dependent_Dealer5473
