If you go on vacation for a two weeks, and someone sends you a “recommended” letter (a letter which you have to sign to get), which you don’t get because they won’t put it into the mailbox, then the legal system considers it as if you’ve got it after seven days from their first try of delivering it. What’s worse is that, they don’t tell you who sent it, so you have no way of contacting the sender to inquire what it was about… this can have very far reaching negative consequences for you.
