Hey folks, I think I need help as im in dire straights… So, I work a job that many want. The pay is good, the hours are good, but there’s definitely competition between coworkers. That being said, some of my coworkers have so much more drive and reason to pursue this job to the best of their abilities, but I just can’t conjure the energy to compete. My coworkers just seem much more capable than I and its embarrassing. They’re more confident, give themselves the space to be more insightful and quickly drive things home. Where as for me, I take longer to do things. I also take longer to make decisions when they matter the most. Everyone looks down on me at work and im treated like a scapegoat. I feel as though I lack the confidence/energy to do my job well and it affects how thorough I can be with my job. I come here asking how I can develop initiative, how I can be more confident and the man I need to be to succeed, make hard decisions and move on in life. I currently feel like my job is the only place I know and my industry is all I have, when that isnt the case. I just dont know how to expand outwards. Please avoid sympathy, rather, can we ask, what are the precursors to initiative, confidence and the drive to seek success? What drove you to achieve what you wanted, or even, what were you told that you carry with you that helped you move forward? My apologies is this is a loaded post, but I feel like im at a dead end submitted by /u/prototypefish72
