Hello, I live next door to an elderly couple in a block in Zurich and have been helping them out over the last few years by doing their shopping and taking out their rubbish. They are now leaving because they will move into a retirement home. Since their apartment is a little bigger than mine, they asked if I would like to take it over – I would love to! They have lived in the apartment for about ten years, and our landlord has always increased their rent when he could. As I earn enough to pay the rent on their apartment, I think there’s a good chance that I can take it over. What should I expect regarding the rent?
