We are looking for tenants to sublet our furnished apartment for a year, while we go on a sabbatical. Starting in november for one year. We put it online about a month ago on flatfox (and at one point also anibis, which put it up on multiple other platforms). But so far we had just a handful of requests and noone actually serious. Like half the time people probably just mass messaged everyone and weren’t interested anymore once they realised this was a temporary sublet. So i am wondering if we are doing something wrong or if sublets are just by nature always short notice. Since only people who are either new to the country and move on short notice or people in the middle of break ups usually are looking for this. So maybe noone would ever bite until the last month. Or do we need to change our approach/lower our price? I would think our place should be pretty attractive in a low-tax town on the lake and close to Zurich city, and 2.5 room should be a good size too. Price is fair and not crazy for this area at a less than 10% above what we pay (for internet, power and furniture). So it isn’t like we are trying to make a profit here. Any tips or experiences about what portals or approaches to use to find tenants? submitted by /u/clm1859
