For context I’m married and DoorDashing at the moment since being laid off from tech last August. My severance and unemployment have ran out. Trying my damndest to replace/recover what I’ve lost and get our household back to normal. Also after self reflection I’m not the most positive person right now nor I’m the most grateful for being alive. Whenever my wife ask for something (within reason) I’m usually fine with. When it’s outside of that I overreact… Think anger, we’re gonna lose this house, why are you asking a broke person for anything, just sell my body to science to make some cash off of it, etc… Some more background on myself, I always dreamed about having a job to take care of myself and my own, it was my sole reason for going to college and getting a degree in the first place. I always thought that without a job or a means to support myself I’d be completely worthless to anyone. Now that I don’t have that anymore everyday feels like a struggle and these are my main thoughts. People find me exhausting to speak to, my wife and everyone else say I should be grateful to make it this far which drives me crazier to hear and makes me more furious, and I’m staring at rope at the Home Depot like Otto from that one movie. Has anyone went through something similar and if so how did you still present yourself without trauma dumping on anyone or your loved ones? submitted by /u/SpaceBreaker
