I’ve been friends with a woman for a while now and we’ve gotten quite close. Too close. She’s in a committed relationship but we’ve been sexual with eachother on and off. We’re aware it’s wrong. Not to make it sound less wrong, but it did start at a time when they were taking a break, feelings happened and now we’re here. To keep my feelings in check I pull away from any conversation that can lead to intimacy, but whether it’s a week, 2 weeks, or a month without anything extra, she starts it again. I’m part of the problem because I know I can simply say no but I don’t. A few days ago she told me how her and her boyfriend had sex. Obviously I know they have sex. They’ve been together for 9 years. I just… it hurts to think about. She’s never explicitly told me in the 2 years I’ve known her until now, so I’m just feeling a bit confused. Like she knows I love her in a way more than a regular friend should. I’ve confessed a lot, many times due to her wanting me to. Part of me wonders if she’s trying to make me feel jealous because I’m pulling away or if she’s simply all of a sudden that open with me now. Regardless if she’s trying anything, this really hurts. It physically makes me sick to my stomach and I don’t know how else to be other than to be cold and just have chill conversations whenever I feel like having them. A problem is this isn’t the first time I’ve distanced myself. I’ve done it a few times, I mean she has as well. But eventually she gets upset at how distant it gets. I just feel like us doing things together, the things we’ve said to eachother, all of the time spent has made this so complicated. I just don’t know if I’m too in my own head about this. submitted by /u/_pastalover1
