Recently joined a new job. Yesterday i noticed a female coworker checking me out, i mean full on staring. i stared back and we held eye contact for about 3 seconds as i worked towards the door that she was having her lunch beside. I looked away and walked through the door normally, didn’t think anything about it. Then today the same thing happened again, I was walking towards the same door that she was having her lunch beside and i looked in her direction. She looked at me and we held eye contact for some seconds. This time she looked away first then looked back again and we held eye contact for another 3 seconds as i kept walking towards the door. I thought this was an obvious sign and said something. This is how the convo went. Me: Hi Her: Hi Me: You keep staring at me hmm why squinting my eyes to show i was joking Her: Well just cause you are walking towards my direction ( does she stare at everyone then???) Me: Oh that’s the only reason huh hehe Me: Stretches out my hand I’m “my-name” Her: Shakes my hand Nice to meet you I’m “her-name” Me: Didn’t hear her well What was that? Her: Repeats it Me: Oh how do you spell it? Her: Spells it Me: Oh that’s interesting, Nice to meet you walks away prematurely because her friend came back It didn’t feel awkward at the time so i’d definitely say something if i see her again but now im wondering if my approach was the best choice. Maybe there’s an obvious line or joke that I’m not seeing here. How would you guys have done it? submitted by /u/gerard415
