Franklin Equity Portfolio Manager Jonathan Curtis thinks the answer comes down to ROI. His view: If Big Tech continues seeing real returns from AI investment, spending should continue and that should remain positive for chip demand. He also argues we may be near the bottom of the “J-curve,” where the payoff from all that spending starts becoming more visible. If that happens, he expects the benefits to eventually spread beyond mega-cap tech into smaller companies building, running and using AI.
