I’ve dated blonde blue eyed Australian women, Scandinavian women, dark haired women while living in Mexico, Costa Rica, African women, African American women, Japanese women, a brunette women from the Netherlands who was my height (6’1,) one of my girlfriends was 5’0. Everything in between. Genuinely, I’ve never had a preference or sought one out. I think of it more like taking care of yourself physically is attractive, having ambition, stability, and easy to talk to, but physically, I don’t think there’s any demographic I’m particularly more attracted to. I look at my guy friends and their dating history, asked them about it, and none of them seem to either. Women I’ve dated and I’m friends with? Oddly, most seem to, and strict as well. I have pretty Scandinavian features and I’ve been told quite a few times “I only try to date guys with green eyes, fair hair, your height,” (unfortunately) “your skin color. Am I, and my guy friends, just outliers? Or do men typically not have as much of a type? Or maybe the women I’ve known are outliers and women don’t on a whole either? Never really thought about it much until my friends and I were drinking and my friend’s fiancé just joked that I “might be out of new dating options” or something. You hear the term “he/she isn’t my type” all the time in media, but I feel like I don’t hear it in day to day life. submitted by /u/KrispyKingTheProphet
