Since a majority of Swiss people voted for the new civil service law on 14th of June 2026, from what I understand the new law will take effect around summer 2027. But one thing that I do not understand is: I did recruit school already and want to change to civil service, so I would have to do 54 days of civil service in the year where I change or the year afterwards. Do those 54 service days need to be done before the new civil law takes effect, or do I just need to change to civil service before summer 2027? I do not find much information about this. Like could I change to civil service one week or month before the new law takes effect, and then have one year to do those 54 civil service days, would that be possible? submitted by /u/GetOutBasel
