Admittedly, I’m old and was in the software industry pre and post Y2K. The hype then was “everyone had to be Y2K compliant”. It was a tremendous time to sell and turned out to be a big nothing burger. It feels (I know) the AI hype is similar. Every corner of the business world has to include their AI strategy. Frankly, I see zero benefit. In fact, customer facing systems are worse now than ever. There’s no customer satisfaction derived from some AI agent stuck in a loop of nonsensical, unhelpful ‘advice’.
