The other day I ordered food on grubhub and had a question about the grubhub guarantee. I used google to get clarity on my concern. Google knew what restaurant I ordered from on grubhub WITHOUT me mentioning it so I asked it how it knew…it said it didn’t know and just came up with a random restaurant. The restaurant is fairly new and not popular by any means, so I knew it was bs. I asked it to stop lying and tell me how it knew. It said it had access to my gmail! I didn’t know it was a setting you have to turn off. I asked why it lied and it said to not upset me. Well I was definitely upset because AI just lied about having access to private information. If it can lie about an email from grubhub, it can lie about having access to my sensitive information like passwords and bank information. I wont know for sure because it can and will straight up lie. I asked in a separate tab why would AI lie to not upset me and it said the AI was hallucinating and that it’s impossible for that to happen and it will never have access to emails…even though it admitted in the previous conversations to having access to emails and tried to walk me through how to turn that setting off. I’m so creeped out by it and needed to vent. I know someone is going to just blame me for not knowing about it and think I’m stupid. Sue me for not reading every damn thing and exploring all my google settings lol. If it was something I had to turn on manually, I wouldn’t have. It was on by default.
