Most people will deal with some sort of trauma or insecurity. Its hard to talk about, men are generally told were not supposed to complain. I tried therapy for the first time and discovered that I am a people pleaser and conflict avoidant. My insecurities as an adult are due to my childhood. Poor self esteem due to being bullied for being a fat kid. I just wanted to fit in, which is probably where the people-pleasing comes from. I also became avoidant because by removing myself from the situation made it easier than facing rejection, so it made me feel like I was in control. Now I can stop, take a breath and keep myself from going down the rabbit hole in my head. I’m not cured, but I can at least lower the volume in my mind. submitted by /u/klutz69
