Lads, I need some input from people outside of my echo chamber. I’m in a profession where the longer I spend training, the higher my salary will be. However, my life is essentially on pause when I’m in training - I’m chronically single, living paycheck to paycheck, little time for friends, no time/money for meaningful self-improvement, etc. I’m about to turn 30 soon and I’m watching the people around me find long-term partners, have kids, buy houses, and frankly just live life. I feel like trying to do these things, especially dating and buying a house, will be harder the older I get. But I could potentially double my salary if I’m willing to delay gratification. So is it worth it? Would you be willing to wait until you were ~35 to have a high income, at the cost of little to no dating experience, questionable physical well-being, and being “behind”? I realize there’s no “right” answer, and it comes down to your own personal views/values, but I could use your perspective nonetheless. Thanks! submitted by /u/LeidenV
