my therapist says it’s not at all possible for people in their 30s to talk to people who are 16-19 in a good faith especially if they’re men. I find it weird, why can’t people interact with people from different generations without coming off as inappropriate? I am 19 now, a few months ago, I took my first solo trip and there I was the youngest. Everyone was there in their 20s 30s and even 40s. I talked to them a lot. Asked them about their careers, culture, life advice and learnt a lot from them. And no, none of the conversation was inappropriate or flirty in any sense. I also befriended people there (both men and women) and I still talk to them sometimes. Is it weird? when I was 16, I was really active on reddit and had numerous discussion with people from different age brackets (again both men and women) and I am still connected to them and talk to them once in a while. Obviously no inappropriate convos ever happened, it all is and was completely geniune. My therapist says it’s not normal too because a 30 year old man has nothing to talk about with a 16 year old girl. submitted by /u/Dimagi_Naxal_69
