I’ve tried out the following Claude Pro Chatgpt Plus - tested with all established models (not astra) Gemini I do fiction and short stories on the side and so far of the 3, I’ve found gpt terra medium or higher is excellent for helping to finish out a thought or establish side story content to the main story. That said, the tokens go boom rather fast even with new chat carryovers to reduce messages. The editing absolutely requires Sol to make it flow well and keep up best with continuity. Gemini I found failed to keep a good tone and best case it resembled luna on how it wrote and it was very mechanical. Claude Pro was good but I felt the samples were stronger for sol edited manuscripts then claude. Any other authors that have played around with models not mentioned here or found better ways to maneuver the non gpt options that could make it a better cost/use case? I’ll consider pro if thats the only way to get decent progress but i’m not convinced the 5x increase will move the needle much given the token usage i’ve seen. Ex. Today alone 9/6 - I ran terra main for manuscript writing and it burned 18 million tokens and hit the 5 hour limit in less than 2 hours despite a fine tuned prompt that I ran through gpt to adjust + fresh chat. submitted by /u/AdLeading8172
