Sometimes it feels like all the food is the same, basically. I’m going to Italy in two weeks and looking up what kind of pastries I should try- but it’s just like, oh, so basically a Cremeschnitte? Oh, an erdbeer tortli? Maybe it tastes different? I hope so- it’ll be my first time in Italy and I’m hoping to eat food that makes me come back to Switzerland and say “I can’t wait to go back for THAT!!” I hope this is allowed- it’s not technically about Switzerland, but more about food comparisons between countries. So many recommendations on Italian-focused sites are directed at Americans, so I didn’t know where to go to ask other Swiss people about what they like to eat in Italy that they can’t get here, or what do you bring back as souvenirs? We have sausage and cheese here, so idk if it makes a very exciting gift (trying to think of something to bring back to my folks). submitted by /u/RestlessTheo
