So, I wasn’t a particularly good programmer before Claude, though I feel quite proud of some of the projects I managed to create on my own, despite the insane number of hours I had to put into them and them being some clunky, buggy messes that, despite everything, still did what they were supposed to. Now, in using Claude, I feel that all my previous efforts were a bit pointless: pretty much whatever I want to do, I can direct Claude and it’ll produce something much better than I could possibly manage, with less bugs, in just a few minutes. It even makes suggestions that, most of the time, ends up improving what I had in mind. So, with all this in mind, is there a point in trying to improve as a programmer? And, if so, what could I do that couldn’t be done better and faster by Claude or other AI? I apologize if I sound bitter. I don’t mean to disparage Claude: it is undoubtedly a super tool, so much so in fact that it seems to make my skills pointless.
