Been experimenting with building tools using Claude lately, and one thing I’ve been thinking abt is how quickly the actual “building” part can become the easy part 😅 Like imagine U build a useful Claude-powered tool and get ur first few hundred users. At first, payments seem simple. Add a checkout page and ur done. But then users start coming from different countries. Some prefer cards, some mostly use local payment methods, and suddenly failed payments, currency conversion, taxes, compliance and payouts all become part of the product experience too. Found this interesting because when ppl talk abt building AI products, most of the discussion is around: prompts/models APIs + costs RAG agents latency getting users But I don’t see much discussion abt what happens after ppl actually want to pay U globally . For ppl here who’ve turned a Claude project into an actual paid product: What was the first “non-AI” problem that surprised U once things started growing? Was it payments? API costs? taxes? support? infrastructure? something else? Also curious what ppl are using for payments. Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, TransactBridge or multiple providers depending on where ur users are? Would genuinely like to hear from ppl who’ve already gone through this stage. submitted by /u/monkeycrypto
