For those unaware, r/singularity recently changed its rules from permitting discussion on how to ensure the singularity benefited humanity, to banning any “fear-mongering” posts on AI. This was applied very broadly. I thought making a poll to notify people of this + see if they agreed would be fine, but it was removed within 5 minutes. Regardless of where each of us stand, it’s pretty worrying that a sub can go from a place of discussion to an echo chamber and take steps to prevent people realising this. submitted by /u/RKAMRR
