I’m honestly perplexed by how Fable 5.1 (medium effort) is making a lot of very simple and avoidable mistakes. As an example I was working on some doc specs with it today and it wrote a 3 line example code listing explaining how to use the API. Then, just below the listing it wrote a sentence that made it clear that this kind of usage was not allowed. I pointed it out to it and asked to scan the document for similar issues. It fixed the specific issue but left out a similar issue in another spot. The document isn’t even very long, maybe 400 words. One quite suspicious thing is that Fable 5.1 seems to respond way way too quickly, usually between 1-2 minutes. For all the bad rep that Opus 5 gets I do not recall any similar issues. Yes it’s very annoying to read the output but it just doesn’t make many mistakes. And the mistakes that it makes are due to incomplete information not due to some silly oversight. It’s all within the same project so it’s not any difference in the problem set itself. Has anyone else encoutered this? I was expecting Fable 5.1 to feel like a substantial upgrade but so far it feels worse than Opus 4.8. (edited some typos) submitted by /u/julkopki
