I’m a 32-year-old guy who’s been trying to turn my life around by getting fitter, improving my diet, and fixing my sleep schedule. For fitness, I mainly go bouldering, and that’s been going well. The biggest thing I’m struggling with is my weekends. I’ll wake up around 9 a.m., and then before I know it, I’ve spent most of the day sitting in front of the TV or PC playing games. I might go to the bouldering gym for an hour, but after that I’m back home on the couch. The problem is that I don’t actually enjoy spending my weekends like this anymore. Deep down, I feel like I’m wasting my life, but at the same time I don’t know what else I’m supposed to be doing. I only have one or two close friends, and I usually only see them once or twice a month. Even then, it can be difficult to organise something. Weekdays are different. After work, I’ll do something active, eat dinner, and by around 7:30 p.m. I’m happy to relax on the couch until bed because it feels like I’ve earned the downtime by working all dat. It’s the weekends that really get to me. Being inside all day with no purpose leaves me feeling empty and unproductive. Has anyone else gone through this? What did you replace endless gaming or TV with? I’m not looking to be productive every minute of the day—I just want my weekends to feel meaningful instead of feeling like they disappeared Thanks! submitted by /u/spazzo246
