I ping pong back and forth between who is right. Newport: the scary stuff happens because we take LLMs and put them in these autonomous loops with tools, memory, and repeated feedback. (agents ask, act, report to an LLM). That setup can go off the rails without the AI actually having goals or intentions of its own.
