EDIT 2: To try and get ahead of any more comments telling me to submit my personal connectivity data if I truly think this is a real issue – Jagex is a multimillion dollar subsidiary of a $100 billion multinational. I think they can move beyond grassroots amateur internet detectives to solve their widespread server issue. And in fact that move itself is in some ways a bit concerning as it effectively puts the onus on the playerbase to solve the issue asynchronously. Which (in the least charitable interpretation) could in the end become a convenient way to avoid any intensive back-end investigation. Reposting from a comment I made after seeing some people cautiously suggesting these connection issues may not be on the backend. Please god Jagex do something about this. These reports are NOT due to personal home internet connectivity issues. I want to add that this is more than shitty ping or intermittent spikes (which also have increased over the last year or so but I digress) I have played purely US East worlds for years now. Within the last ~2 weeks it is EXCEEDINGLY clear there is a new and never before experienced issue. Strange shit I’ve never seen before - friends lists not loading, full on freezes on world hopping, completely unheard of packet loss and base ping elevations/ping spikes. At this point I set my default login world as an Aussie server because although I can’t log in directly to US east (and occasionally west) - I get auto DC’ed - I can usually world hop into one (maybe) once I am on a Euro or Oceania server. And its affecting mobile too which is very bizarre. I am begging Jagex to fix this shit and take it seriously. Sorry for the drama but after seeing their lukewarm “notice” on the login screen and some commenters here in the reddit suggesting this isn’t a real issue, I needed to respond emphatically. EDIT: I know it’s reddit and I shouldn’t expect the best reading comprehension - but to the people who repeatedly comment “what do you want?” - I want exactly what the title of this post says - for this issue (that I am well aware is being investigated) to not be dismissed.
