There’s been a lot of talk in the last few days about the impending demise of humanity in the very near future post comments from ex-anthropic employees and other experts in the field. I’m more than well aware of the risks of an AI uprising that leads to unfavourable scenarios for mankind. What are the communities arguments against this happening? Does super intelligence by nature and definition lead to extinction? Any optimists here that would like to share the flip side of the coin? It would be great for things like healthcare - providing there was the ability to coexist. My personal take is because the models are made in the human image and trained from what we seek they’re potentially more aligned than we think. submitted by /u/joshlove182
