Long story short, I’m 26, and honestly, I feel like I’m still a kid in a lot of ways. I’m an adult on paper, but I don’t always feel like I have the perspective, emotional maturity, or life experience that I imagine other men have at this stage. I was in a relationship from around 17, so a huge part of my formative years were spent with the same person. We recently went our separate ways, and she is now getting married. Seeing her move on has forced me to take a hard look at my own life, and I’ve realized how much I still have to figure out. personally, professionally, and emotionally. I don’t really want reassurance or someone telling me that “everything happens for a reason.” I’d genuinely like to hear from men who are older than me and have been through some shit. If you were 26 again, what would you tell yourself? What would you tell a younger man who feels like he’s falling behind? What did you waste too much time worrying about? Feel free to be blunt. I’m specifically looking for the kind of advice you’d give a younger brother or son when you’re not trying to spare his feelings. Thank you. submitted by /u/Mzmil
