so im sorry to intrude on r/askmen since i am actually a woman, but my brother asked me to be his best man! it’s always just been the two of us, and we are close enough that he asked me and i am so beyond honored. but idk what im doing!! ive never been a bridesmaid, let alone a best man, and i’ve only been to one wedding. i don’t have a lot of male friends and the ones i do have haven’t been best men. i want to do a good job for my brother but idk where to begin! i know i have to do a speech and stand w him at the alter but that’s about it. my brother is a low maintenance autistic guy who loves transit so idk what he wants for his bachelor party but ik it won’t be bars/club etc since that’s not his vibe. his wedding is in 13 months. what can i expect as best man? how do i write a good speech? do i get him a special gift? please, help a gal out!! submitted by /u/verycoolgurly
