Hi, So im Jan, 15 years old and from Germany. Since fifth grade, I was together with this girl. She was beautiful, smart, and there was always something about her smile that would not let me go—a true angel. She was being bullied, so I always stepped in, often together with her brother (my best friend), to protect her. But then, the bullying started shifting toward us. They started attacking us. My friend got a brick thrown to the back of his head, and all kinds of crazy shit happened. This went on and on until, in the middle of seventh grade, she got sick. She died a year later. Before she passed, she did what she always did for me: she made me promise not to do anything stupid, like harming myself or the bullies, and to try to be a better man. Not even a week later, I had a SWAT team (SEK, because I am from Germany) bust down my door and cuff me at gunpoint. The same happened to my buddy. It all happened because the school principal and teachers, who hated us, called the cops and said we were “dangerous Nazi school shooters”—and yes, that is a direct quote from them. My friend is now sitting in prison because they found drugs on him (he had his own problems). Well, I am the one who made it out of all this shit, alongside other things like childhood abuse. Yet, I feel like I am the one least deserving of this kind of luck. I also have quite a few friends who have put themselves six feet under or died in other ways. So, my question is: why was I spared while so many far better people had to suffer because of me? submitted by /u/ConferenceCrazy560
