Hi Guys, I am pursuing a course in AI and the Law. So I have to do my thesis, and I am researching a bit, but I would like to ask your opinion for ideas. Just to know a little bit about the background, I have a masters in AI (like a proper 2 years master), and I have completed the course in AI ethics (fairness and bias focused) (6 mos) and now I am doing a course in AI and the law (6 mos). Mostly I have briefly gone through, EU AI ACT, and other regulations, Data privacy, Intellectual property, Software Liability, and cyber security. I am more leaning towards, technical AI governance, like I want to quantitatively identify bias in the systems. Like let’s say big players in AI release model cards, but it is so vague ?? why can’t they give quantitative measurement on how fair or ethical their model is ? I want to work on this maybe? What are some ideas ? Please help. I don’t want it to heavily rely on math but mild math is ok. Model explainability, Model tuning, and continuous monitoring is fine. Also, I want to leverage the AI degree with AI and the law, because I realise this is a very valuable skill as there is a heavy need for IT people who also understand law. The criteria is that, i want to be in a field which will be alive for longer, interesting, not very very hard and pays reasonably well. submitted by /u/Fickle-Aide9279
