It captures 1080p from any HDMI output, controls keyboard and mouse over a web UI, mounts ISOs, does Wake-on-LAN, and the firmware is open source at launch. $39 wired, $42 with Wi-Fi 6, cheaper in 3-packs, shipping October 26. Why it matters here: every “computer use” agent today runs inside the OS and dies at a BIOS screen, login prompt, or crashed installer. A KVM sees what the monitor sees and types what a keyboard types, so an agent driving one could reinstall an OS or recover a hung GPU box with zero software on the target. The post itself never mentions AI, but at this price with an open API it is an obvious building block.
